RUTH -- WEEK 2 DAY 2

RUTH -- WEEK 2 DAY 2

Week 2 :: Day 2 — Bible Study - Ruth

Read Ruth 2:1-3
1. “And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband’s, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz.
2. And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said until her, Go, my daughter.
3. And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her hap was to light in a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.”

💛kinsman means relative
💛her hap was to light :: she happen to find herself
💛glean means to gather

My bible states in a footnote— “God’s law necessitated that the corners of the fields not be harvested. In addition, any grain that was dropped was to be left for widows, orphans, foreigners, and the poor, who would gather it and use it for food. The purpose of this law was to feed the poor and prevent the homeowners from hoarding.”

Reference to Deuteronomy 24:19-20
19. “When thou curtesy down think harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.
20. When thou neatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.”

Ruth was a hard worker. She went out into the fields because she knew what she needed and hard work was the only way to receive it. God provided to Ruth because she took the first step.

Ruth went into the fields to work and to better herself, and she wasn’t expecting to find love in the fields working. But God placed Boaz in her path.

✨The study book states “We can trust Him in our situations as well. We might not know what He is doing, but we can be sure that he is working for us. We might not know what the future holds, but we can know that the One who holds the future is holding us.”

🩵How have you seen the providence (protection and care) of God in your life?
-He forgave me on my sins so I would have eternal life. This is the most great providence of God. He is now guiding and leading my through my faith to love for Him.

🩵 In what small daily tasks can you be faithful?
-Small tasks that can keep us faithful my mind falls back to the fruits of the spirit. (Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness). These acts will keep us faithful and true in the day-to-day and they are things that as Christians should come naturally.

🩵How is the gospel the ultimate example of good coming from bad because of God’s grace?
-Jesus died on the cross so we would have our sins forgiven. The most amazing act of love and selflessness. He gave His life for you and me. He was tortured and tormented all for us (bad). Being able to live for him and know we have an eternal home (good).

🙏Dear Lord,
Thank you for dying on the cross for me. Help me to do your will and love like Jesus. Give me the knowledge I need and the words to say for this bible study that it may be a light to someone.
-Amen
