Read 3:10-13
10. “And he said, Blessed be thou of the Lord, my daughter: for thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich.
11. And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.
12. And now it is true that I am thy near kinsman: howbeit there is a kinsman nearer than I.
13. Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman’s part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, as the Lord liveth: lie down until the morning.”
Boaz feels that Ruth choosing him to be his kinsman-redeemer shows loyalty, kindness, and faithfulness. Ruth could have easily chosen a younger and more wealthy person to marry. But she honors her late husband and his family.
Proverbs 31– this is a good book to study and chapter to study what the value of a virtuous woman is. A virtuous woman is pretty much the “ideal woman”. In the Bible virtuous shows strength in character, honesty, patience, and faithfulness. Ruth was all of these.
Boaz promised to protect Ruth and Naomi both.
Boaz then later informs Ruth and Naomi that someone else may be closer related than him. And by the law in this time the closest relative had the right to marry first or to let someone else marry. Boaz has shown that he had integrity but wanting to do things the right way and by the law.
The study book states, “We can come boldly to the Lord with confidence that He will answer us.” Just like Ruth came boldly to Boaz to choose him.

I want people to describe me as someone who loves Jesus and someone who is reflecting the fruit of the spirit. I have had a rough year, and I have really had to work on myself lately. I pray that I can get back to where I need to be!
How can you practically point those around you to Jesus?Live a Christlike life and show love. Share the Word of Christ boldly and be an encouragement to others.
Dear Lord,
Guide me to do your will and share your Word. Help me to love like Jesus. Give me the courage to share your love to someone and be a light.
