RUTH -- WEEK 3 DAY 4

RUTH -- WEEK 3 DAY 4

Week 3 :: Day 4 — Bible Study — Ruth

Read Ruth 3:14-18

14. “And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose up before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came into the floor.
15. Also he said, Bring the vail that thou hast upon thee, and hold it. And when she held it, he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her: and she went into the city.
16. And when she came to her mother in law, she said, Who art thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.
17. And she said, These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said to me, Go not empty unto thy mother in law.
18. Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.”

Ruth stayed at Boaz feet and left before dawn. This protected her reputation so no one misunderstood when she was with Boaz during the night. Boaz wanted Ruth to feel and be safe.

As Ruth goes to leave Boaz gives her 6 measures (unsure how how much this really is) of barley for her and Naomi. Boaz is once again trying to help and provide/take care of Ruth and Naomi. I think as Ruth goes back into the city this has given her hope.

Ruth then makes it back to the city to tell Naomi about what she had done and what Boaz has given them. This shows how much Ruth cares about Naomi to keep her in the loop and informed.

Naomi tells truth to trust and be patient with Boaz. Naomi is trying to tell Ruth to have faith in Gods timing. Boaz has already shown us that he is trustworthy and willing to do whatever it takes to be a protector over Ruth. As he made the promise back in verses 11 (“And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.”) to take care of Ruth and be responsible for her.

My bible says, “He obviously had a reputation for keeping his word and would not rest until his task was completed. Such reliable people stand out in any age and culture.”

The study book says, “Not only does God not leave us empty, He also does not give us just enough to scrape by. He fills us to overflowing. He overwhelms us with His steadfast love and gives us plentiful redemption.”

🩵What situations have you faced that can tempt you to think you have been forgotten or left empty?
Many of you following along may not may not already know this, but I have struggled with my mental health over the last 9-10 months with horrible thoughts of taking my own life. In those situations of struggle it feels like no one cares and than God has forgotten us. That’s the farthest thing from the truth. God is always there. he will never forget nor forsake us.

🩵What are you waiting for right now?
I am ready to be emotionally better. I am getting there slowly but surely. It will take time.

🩵How does the gospel enable you to trust God to provide?
It assures us of Gods love and faithfulness.

🙏 Dear Lord,
Thank You for Your love and faithfulness. Help us to trust in Your perfect plan. May we walk in faith, knowing You are always with us. Help me to love like Jesus.
-Amen
